Huanuo 17-32” Monitor Mount Stand Review

Huanuo single monitor stand

As you know, positioning your monitor correctly can help reduce fatigue, eye strain, as well as posture-related problems such as back pain and neck pain. It also helps reduce glare and improve our posture. So, you must ensure that the viewing range of your monitor is between eye level and 30-degree below it.

There are two things you can use to place your monitor at the right level:

  • Wall mount monitor stands can help you get your monitors off the desk and free up a lot of valuable space. They require drilling, so if you have a rented space where drilling is not possible, you can opt for tabletop monitor stands.
  • Tabletop monitor stands can be hooked to the edge of your desk. They do not require any drilling on the table surface but you can do that if you are looking for an extreme level of stability. Plus, they have cushioned surfaces that protect the desk from damages and scratches.

If you are looking for wall mount monitor stands, here are some of the products that we recommend.

For people who would rather go with a desktop monitor stand, we would recommend the Huanuo monitor mount stand that we are going to review in this article. It is a dual monitor stand meant to hold 17-32 inch screens but Huanuo also sells single mount stands and dual mount stands to hold smaller screens too. No matter which one you choose, all of them have the same amount of articulation and a sturdy build.

The Huanuo monitor mount stand works as good as a Vivo dual monitor stand for desk. But, it costs just half the price of the Vivo one. It lacks the absolute level of smoothness that Vivo monitor stands provide, but that wasn’t a dealbreaker for us.

Watch the video above to see how it functions and how it compares to the Vivo monitor stand. For detailed information on its features, build quality, stability, ease of use, flaws, etc. keep reading this article.

This is the hanu o monitor arm. And overall, I really like it, I think for the price, it’s difficult to beat the value you get here. So for 40 to 50 bucks, you can get this monitor arm, and it will hold a pretty weighty monitor. This is a 27 inch monitor that I have on here right now. And as you can see, it’s holding it fine. Some cons about it, though, I will say, I don’t feel like it’s as easy to adjust as I would like. So let me just show you. It’s not too bad, but it doesn’t feel as easy and solidly adjustable as this vivo that I have right here. Now keep in mind that vivo over there is around $100. So that’s significantly higher priced, but it is a heavier duty monitor arm. And with this though, I think you can get a lot of value out of it, and it will get the job done. Another thing I don’t love about it is this here. So in order to raise this up and down, you have to undo this and then lower it or raise it. So it’s not something you want to do when you have the monitor on there already, right. So you would have to take it off, adjusted or just turn it just a little bit to where it’s sliding down a bit, but not just falling and slamming down. So that’s something to keep in mind. Also, this monitor arm does have a little bit more wiggle, so a little bit more instability than the vivo. Now in some desks, so as you can see, there’s barely any there. But with this, there is a bit more. And now with some desks, that’s not going to be an issue. But with a standing desk like this that already has a bit of wiggle itself, it can kind of multiply and amplify, especially as you get the desk higher. So one thing to keep in mind. Now let me show you under the desk to show you how this clamps on here. Okay, so now I am under the desk. And as you can see, it’s a pretty simple mechanism here for almost like a vise right to just screw that on, and it clamps on to the underside of the desk. And that’s just one there. Now if we compare it to the other one that I’ve been trying out, which is the vivo, the vivo is much, much more heavy duty. But of course that comes with the, you know, the increased heavy duty, this comes with a price, right because the vivo is $100. This is around 40 to $50. Another con about this Juana monitor stand is that you have less you have less ability to adjust it back and forth. So if I want to push this further back on my desk, it’s not quite as easy to do. And let me tell you why. So to push this backwards, I have this has to go in some right. And then also this has to rotate as well. Which in order for this to rotate as well, this has to loosen up a bit, and I’d be worried about it kind of falling down. So you really have to get it into place where you want it and the depth, so front or back that you want. And then the real adjustability comes in here, right? This is pretty adjustable with the monitor on but this not as much. And that’s that’s a bit of a downside for me. So it’s not as much range of adjustability as something like the vivo monitor over here. But once again, as I keep saying, you have to factor in the price you pay for it. And this can be a fantastic option, especially once you get it into the place that you want it at. Okay, and now let’s get to the point where I rate the monitor arm. How would I rate this product? Well, I would give it a 4.5 out of five. Now it loses some points just for a little bit of instability here. And then of course the degree of adjustability you can’t adjust it back and forth as much as I might like. But once again, you have to keep in mind the price that you’re paying for it and at this price point it’s going to be hard to beat because for $40 you get an adjustable monitor arm that will support the larger monitors 27 inch, I believe they go up to 32 inch. You can check our written review for the full specs. And so yes, reading 4.5 out of five definitely highly recommended.

Build quality

Customer testimonial of Huanuo monitor arm

87% of buyers have rated it 4-stars and above. Hundreds of them have agreed that it is one of the best monitor arm for desk. No visible part of it looks cheap or breakable.

The integrated cable management system has clips under the arms where you can hide the power cords and AV cables. It helps give a cleaner, more organized look to your workplace.

The base of the Haunuo monitor arm for desk has a triangular design, which helps enhance the stability of your setup. The c-clamp will not scratch or damage the surface of the table unless you tighten it excessively, which isn’t required.

It provides a wide range of motion so you can adjust your screen at any angle that you might want. You can adjust the tension of the arms by using the provided allen key

Please note that this product is not meant for glass tables.

Gas spring mechanism

Ever wondered why some monitor arms for desk are ridiculously cheap although they offer the same amount of adjustments as the expensive ones like the Vivo monitor stand does? That’s because they use standard spring mechanism whereas good quality ones like the Vivo and Haunuo monitor Mount stand use gas spring mechanism.

Gas spring mechanism is the thing that is used in your office chairs or the lid of your car’s trunk. It helps you to lower or lift or support heavy objects much more easily and smoothly. Gas Springs are very smooth and work at a constant speed whereas metal ones are highly unpredictable. If you don’t really want to buy a monitor arm for desk that could collapse any minute, you should trust the ones that come with a gas spring mechanism.

As expected, the Huanuo adjustable monitor stand provides a smooth operation. Whether you want to tilt or rotate your monitor, you can do it easily.

We would like to admit that the mechanism isn’t as smooth and effortless as the Vivo monitor stand but we don’t have any regrets about buying it because it is still pretty easy to use and costs half of what the Vivo monitor stand costs.

Height adjustment is tricky

Height adjustment level of Huanuo single monitor mount

For adjusting the height of your monitor arm, you will have to unscrew the lever, which could be tricky when you have a monitor already mounted on it. You have to be a bit more careful or else the stand could collapse.

Well, once you have adjusted the arms at the right level, you will hardly have to readjust the height, so it is again not a dealbreaker for us. But, you must know that unlike the Vivo monitor stands, the Huanuo ones do require some work for making height adjustments.

Easy assembly and installation

C-clamp that fixes the Huanuo stand to the desk

One buyer in his Huanuo monitor mount stand has mentioned that the assembly is as easy as solving a 3-piece jigsaw puzzle. It comes with almost everything that you need to put it together but make sure you have a Phillips head screwdriver handy because you will need it to attach the VESA bracket

Once assembled, Huanuo full motion monitor arm is pretty easy to install. You don’t have to necessarily drill holes in the table. You can simply hook it to the desk using the C clamp. But, if you want an extremely stable structure that your kids or pets won’t be able to knock down, you should go with the drilling method using the grommet.

Can be used with just one arm joint

Numerous buyers have complained that you can’t have your desk against the wall because the arms need space to move. If you have the Huanuo monitor arm against the wall, you won’t get full range of motion.

Well, here is what you need to know.

  • You can attach it to the corner of the desk so it won’t hit the wall and yet provide you free articulation.
  • You can use it with just one arm, the one that attaches to the base. But, that will again limit its range of motion.

What we don’t like about the Huanuo monitor mount stand

It wobbles a bit

The wobble isn’t too much to bother about but you should know that it isn’t as stable as the Vivo monitor stands. Well, Vivo products are expensive so they ought to be more stable than the cheaper alternatives like the Huanuo monitor arms for desks.

C-clamps are not that wider

As we have stated in our Huanuo monitor mount stand review video above, the C-clamps require some improvement. They aren’t as wide as we had expected. Don’t get us wrong; it is very stable and you don’t need to worry about your monitor getting knocked off. Just that we were expecting something better.

Issues with VESA plate

A few buyers have stated that the VESA attachment is slightly loose. When you try to adjust the screen, it will wobble a bit but you can add a 3M piece of picture foam to get rid of it. The one we received was fitting well. Maybe it depends on the type of monitor you are using.

Height adjustment requires loosening the screw

We have already explained it above. If you want to change your monitor’s height frequently, then you should go with the Vivo products instead.

Our Rating: 4.5/5

Our Verdict:

The Huanuo monitor mount stand is an excellent alternative to the more expensive Vivo monitor mounts. We bet you won’t regret the purchase.

If you travel a lot or if you use a laptop instead, make sure you buy a height-adjustable laptop stand like this Nexstand product. They are lightweight and portable. You can use them on almost any surface, so you never have to hunch your back while working from a coffee shop or a hotel.

Create an ergonomic workstation

Some other things that you can use to create an ergonomic office space is height-adjustable desks that let you sit or stand while at work, a Logitech vertical mouse that helps reduce strain on your wrist, a Bitpro LGM Gaming Mousepad that provide smooth mouse movement, thereby further reducing the pressure on the wrists, and good quality ergonomic chairs

Talking about chairs; we have recently reviewed the Steelcase Gesture chair on our website. If you don’t know, Steelcase manufactures some of the best ergonomic products for office and home office.
